Our sweet little cottage has recently been updated with laminate floors, new trim, doors, butcher block counter tops and back splash. Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee from the Keurig in the morning and snuggle up on the large sectional with a movie in the evening. All of our bedding is cotton and the queen bed has a memory foam topper on it. Recently built fence separates the yard for privacy. Lots of love went into creating this cozy, happy place for guests to stay. Our original home was built in 1889 and has been in the family ever since. Recently the house was updated with all new siding, windows, trim and paint. Giving this old house a much needed facelift. My husbands family used to own acres of land right here in town, including a horse and barn that belonged to my mother in-law when she was just a little girl. The cottage was built for his Grandma Ginger Lee Thompson for her beauty salon. The space was only half the size to start, with the other being a small garage. Since, we have added the bedroom and front entry. The bedroom has a cozy queen bed with white organic cotton linens. The bathroom has a large walk in tile shower and water closet for additional privacy. Kitchen comes stocked with basic needs. If you’re looking for a special little place with sentimental history, our place is for you! You will have full access to the cottage. The exterior door is just under the carport. The cottage is attached to a main house that is rented to family that help maintain the Airbnb. We are just 10 minutes up the road if our guests should need us. We also love meeting our guests when the opportunity arises. We are walking distance to down town Sedro-Woolley. Also nearby is a Rite Aid, Dairy Queen and Subway. Rails Trails is about two blocks from us and is great for a walk in the country. In the spring and summer on Wednesdays there is a local farmers market from 3-7. Also fun local stores including Restless and Refurbished home decor, Oliver and Hammer Clothes shop, Shelley's Shack home decor, The Pioneer Market for groceries. The Local 20 Tap Room and Eagle Haven Winery are also great places for a beer or glass of wine. River Front park is also nearby and great for kids! Parking is just under the carport in front of the cottage. So no need to unload luggage in the rain. The local bus stop is just at the end of our street if you need public transportation. We have also added two beach cruiser bikes for our guests to use. We have family that rent the main house. Both adults and three teenagers drive. So there are multiple cars. Everyone is very friendly and extremely respectful of our guests. They have one very sweet lab named Bailey. We feel having our family there gives an added level of safety and security for our guests traveling alone. They are always willing to help in any way they can. They are truly good people.
